In retaliation, America expelled two Russian diplomats.
According to Sputnik, an official representative of the US State Department told Sputnik that the ministry declared two employees of the Russian embassy in the US as undesirable elements.
In a conversation with Sputnik, this representative added that in response to the expulsion of two diplomats from the US Embassy in Moscow, the US State Department reciprocated by declaring two employees of the Russian Embassy who worked in Washington as undesirable elements.
At the same time, he emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would not tolerate harassment of American diplomats by Moscow and warned about the consequences of such actions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia confirmed the expulsion of Russian diplomats from America and described this action by Washington as useless.
In the middle of last September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia declared two employees of the American diplomatic mission in Moscow as undesirable elements. The ministry also stressed that the illegal activities of the US embassy are unacceptable and will be suppressed.
