Increased support for Harris due to her racial heritage among Indian Americans

PNN – Newsweek wrote: While former US President Donald Trump has questioned the racial background of his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, the enthusiasm of Asian and Indian voters could help Harris win the White House.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this American weekly added: US President Donald Trump said last week that Harris claimed to be of Indian descent, but now wants to pretend to be black. I don’t know if she is Indian or black?

While rejecting Trump’s comments, Harris described it as “the same old show” to create discord and divert minds.

Harris’s father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian, and she identifies as Asian and black.

Her race, experts say, has energized Indian-American voters who could play a major role in the fate of US elections.

Research by an assistant professor of political science at Pomona College in the United States on the voting behavior of Latino and Asian Americans showed that Indian Americans are mobilized among other Asian American groups based on their common identity.

However, a shared identity alone does not mean that Harris can win Indian-American votes, experts say.

Harris leads Trump in three key states

A new average of polls shows that Harris is ahead of Trump in three crucial states, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Before Biden dropped out of the race, several polls showed Harris trailing Trump. Still, she fared better than other top Democrats polled.

But Harris’ campaign success seems to have had an impact on likely voters in America, as average national polls show a 4.4 percent increase in her vote over the past month.

According to the average of national polls in the US conducted by the Silver Bulletin Institute, Harris is now 45 percent ahead of Trump with 43.9 percent.

Based on these results in swing states that usually play a decisive role in elections, Harris’s lead over Trump is 45.3% to 44.8%. The difference between the two candidates in Wisconsin is 1.2% (46 vs. 44.8%) and in Michigan it is 2.4% (45.2 vs. 42.8%).

However, in the so-called battleground states of Trump with 46.3% against 44.8% in Georgia, in North Carolina 46.7% against 44.7%, Arizona 46.3 against 43.8 percentage, Nevada leads Harris 43.9% to 42.6%.

The American election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The 81-year-old President of the United States, Joe Biden, finally withdrew from the country’s presidential election after many discussions about his candidacy and his ability to compete with Trump, and supported his vice president Harris as the candidate of the Democratic Party.
