Increasing brutal torture of Palestinian prisoners by the Zionists.
According to al-Mayadeen, while the conditions of the Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the occupying regime have worsened at the same time as the beginning of the Gaza war, the board of prisoners and freedmen of Palestine has announced in a report about the miserable condition of the Palestinian prisoners in the “Etzion” prison. Kurd said that 90% of the prisoners are subjected to terrible tortures and beatings, and some of them have been transferred to the administrative detention center.
In the report of this committee, it is stated that 90 of the 105 Palestinian prisoners in Etzion Prison were severely tortured and beaten and were still under torture until they reached the administrative detention center.
The lawyer of the Board of Palestinian Prisoners and Freedmen described the situation of prisoners in Etzion prison as catastrophic and announced that these prisoners are locked in a very small space they are not even given mattresses, blankets, and clothes and they have to sleep on the ground in the cold. Even the windows are open, which makes the rooms cold, and the conditions are always worse when it rains, and the room where these prisoners are kept turns into a puddle.
He added: Of course, the matter does not end here, and to further torture the prisoners and deprive them of sleep, the prison guards knock on the doors of the rooms every night and sometimes take them out without any justification and keep them in the yard in very cold weather. We are also witnessing severe medical negligence against these prisoners, and the Zionists are looking for the gradual death of Palestinian prisoners. Since the beginning of the military aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, no medicine has been given to the prisoners, and despite the dire physical condition of many of them, no medical follow-up is carried out, which is a form of punishment against them.
Since October 7th, which is the beginning of the Al-Aqsa storm operation, the brutal actions of the occupying elements against the Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the Zionist regime have intensified. The prisons of the Zionist regime have become a real hell where all kinds of torture are practiced in them. This is even though the legal institutions have not taken any action in this regard and the current tortures in these prisons remain hidden from the media.
According to what the Palestinian prisoners have narrated, the Zionist elements contaminate the prisoners’ drinking water with dirt so that it is no longer drinkable. The cells of these prisoners are full of insects and dozens of prisoners are kept in one cell.
Also, Palestinian prisoners do not see sunlight during the day. The electricity in the prisons is also cut off. The meals given to the prisoners are of such poor quality that many of the prisoners suffer from digestive diseases.
