Increasing the willingness of Americans to immigrate

PNN – The results of a new survey showed that the fear of domestic violence and tiredness of Americans have significantly increased the desire of the citizens of this country to live in another country compared to half a century ago.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Newsweek magazine wrote: The results of this survey, which was conducted with the participation of 902 American adults by the Monmouth University Polling Institute, showed that 34% of Americans are interested in living in another country.

Meanwhile, the results of a similar survey by the Gallup Institute in 1974 of Americans indicated that 24% of them were interested in emigrating from this country.

This survey, whose results were published on March 26 and was conducted between February 8 and 12, indicates that 41 percent of politically independent people want to settle in another country. Among the Democrats, 35% and among the Republicans, 22% expressed such a demand.

This is despite the fact that 50 years ago, only 13% of independents, 10% of Democrats and 9% of Republicans wanted to settle in another country.

More than half of those willing to leave the country were under the age of 35, while 17 percent of those 55 or older expressed a similar interest.

The Pew Research Center poll of 8,480 adults, conducted between July 10 and 16, indicated the increasing polarization of American society. So that 65% of the respondents said that they are tired of American politics and 55% said that they are angry about these policies.

Another poll commissioned by Newsweek earlier found that most Americans are worried about a resurgence of political violence in the US following the January 6, 2021 attack on Congress. According to political scientists, the rematch between the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, in the November elections, has once again intensified the fear of possible chaos.

In successive surveys, participants were not asked which countries they would like to move to, but were asked to indicate which countries they would most like to visit.

In the 1974 survey, England and Germany were the most popular destinations for American citizens, followed by Australia, Italy, France and Switzerland.
