India proposes Shanghai FTA.

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who represented India at the 24th meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization hosted by the Russian National Center in Moscow, also called for holding events for dialogue between cultures and civilizations.

He noted that cultural and civilizational dialogue between the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be the key to all interactions, including in the fields of science, culture, and sports, and will lead to mutual understanding.

The Indian Foreign Minister continued by stating that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is also on the path of reform, saying: This organization must adapt to the current conditions and broaden its cooperation agenda.

He also recalled that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established to combat extremism, terrorism, and security threats, and stated: Threats in this area have recently increased,d and there is a need to strengthen cooperation.

Jaishankar said: “The events of recent years in the world have clearly shown that terrorism is unacceptable and that no one should engage in so-called whitewashing of issues related to terrorism, and that all aspects of terrorism should be confronted.”
