India’s position on the outcome of the US presidential election

PNN – Donald Trump was announced as the winner of the US presidential election today (Wednesday) and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated him, but India’s position towards the new tenant of the White House was already known.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his X account on Wednesday and wrote: My friend, I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart on your historic victory in the elections.

The Prime Minister of India, who had established cordial relations with Trump during the first term of his presidency, added: As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewed cooperation to further strengthen the India-US “Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership”.

Modi, who is considered by many countries as a good mediator to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, continued his message and emphasized: Let’s work together to improve the condition of our people and promote peace, stability and global prosperity.

His congratulations to the new tenant of the White House came at a time when India’s relations with Joe Biden’s government had reached their lowest level due to the activities of Sikh separatists in America.

However, before Trump was elected as US President, India stated its position on the election winner and said that Washington will become more isolationists in the world regardless of who becomes the president.

Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar said on Wednesday that the United States is likely to become more isolationists regardless of who becomes its next president.

The election is unlikely to reverse the long-term course of US politics, Canberra-based Jaishankar said as Americans continued to vote.

He pointed to the United States’ reluctance to deploy troops and its move to withdraw from Afghanistan under President Joe Biden and said: Probably since Barack Obama, the United States has become much more cautious about its global commitments.

Indian Foreign Minister stated: If we really analyze them, I think we have to prepare for a world where the kind of dominance and generosity that the United States had in the early days may not continue.

However, Jaishankar stated that India’s relationship with the US will grow in the future.
