Pak Sahafat – Indonesia’s National Anti-Terrorism Agency held a bilateral consultative meeting with Australia’s Office of Foreign Affairs and Trade in order to strengthen anti-terrorist cooperation.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Antara on Sunday, based on the statement released by Rico Amelza Daniel, the head of Indonesia’s anti-terrorist agency in Canberra, he said: The ninth consultation meeting that is held regularly in the year with the aim of strengthening anti-terrorist cooperation has been completed.
He added that in this meeting, a part of the implementation of the memorandum between the governments of Australia and Indonesia regarding mutual measures regarding the issues of terrorists and extremist violence was discussed.
According to the head of the Indonesian Terrorist Agency, terrorist threats and priorities for dealing with terrorism in the future were discussed in this meeting.
In addition, in this meeting, the importance of cooperation and co-priesthood in the issue of counter-terrorism was emphasized.
In an interview with reporters, Rico Daniel said that this was a multi-purpose bilateral consultative meeting that showed the close relations between the two countries and the importance of cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism.
At the same time, Richard Fix, Australia’s counter-terrorism envoy, expressed his appreciation for the various counter-terrorism cooperations that have been carried out between Australia and Indonesia so far. He added that Indonesia is an important partner for Australia in dealing with counter-terrorism issues.
In the meeting between Australia and Indonesia, issues such as online threats from extremists targeting young people, terrorist groups and terrorist financing issues were discussed.
Australia and Indonesia also committed to continue working together through dialogue in bilateral, regional and multilateral working groups, as well as technical cooperation.
