PNN – Indonesia may withdraw from US President Donald Trump’s “peace delegation” if Palestinian independence is not secured.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Anatolia, Responding to concerns about the issue, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said at a meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday: If we join the peace delegation and our views are not aligned, we are not obligated to accompany each other. If no change is achieved, I am ready to leave the peace delegation.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugihon also said separately that the Indonesian president had raised the option of withdrawing if the peace mission did not align with Indonesia’s goals.

He added: If this delegation does not align with what we want, which is first, peace in Gaza in the short term; then peace in Palestine more broadly, and ultimately Palestinian independence and sovereignty, we can walk away from it. That is the path we intend to take.

It is also reported that the term of each country’s membership in the council will be three years, which can be extended with Trump’s consent. However, he asked countries that wish to have a permanent seat on the council to allocate $1 billion [for Gaza].

According to the draft, Trump will have the right to replace him as president whenever he wants.

Additionally, Al Jazeera quoted the White House as saying that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Whitakoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, will be among the founding executive members of this so-called peace delegation.

Other members of the delegation include Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Thawadi, Mark Rowan, CEO of Apollo Global Management; World Bank Group President Aji Banga, and US Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.

The White House announced that the members of the delegation will “oversee a specific set of missions critical to Gaza’s stability and long-term success,” including “governance capacity building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, expanded financing, and capital mobilization.”
