Infighting Looms: Arabi21 Reveals Possibility Of Growing Discord Among Syria Militants.
In a report on the challenges facing terrorist groups in Syria, the Arab 21 website wrote: It is not yet clear how the next regime in Syria will be formed. At present, given that various groups have come under the banner of the forces present in Damascus and various regions of Syria, analysts have pointed to the possibility of expanding differences between them.
According to experts, these differences could negatively affect the performance of the aforementioned elements, especially regarding the division of spoils obtained in Syria. Currently, all spoils have been collected and transferred to the conflict lines so that they can be used in military operations instead of being divided.
Analysts also pointed to the presence of the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces, known as the SDF. These forces control the eastern areas of Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Hasakah, and part of the eastern suburbs of Aleppo.
The US-backed SDF forces have failed to reach an agreement with other Kurdish forces through dialogue, and Arab groups within the areas under their control have been significantly marginalized.
Experts also believe it is not unlikely that the SDF forces will use the Al-Hol camp prison, which contains ISIS elements, as a lever of pressure.
