PNN – A Yugao Institute survey showed that for the third year in a row, inflation topped the list of most pressing concerns among American voters, followed by homelessness.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from “Hail” website, 67 percent of American citizens believe that “inflation” is their main concern for voting in the 2024 elections. A similar poll last year found that 68 percent of Americans considered inflation a serious issue, compared to just 64 percent in 2022.
The report added: “Homelessness” and “debt” were ranked next in the list among the 32 topics surveyed. The survey found that in 2023, homelessness was considered a serious problem by 60 percent of Americans, while concerns about debt were at 52 percent.
According to The Hill, polls also show that concerns about rising “anti-Semitism” and “illegal immigration” have increased over the past 12 months. Almost 31 percent of respondents say anti-Semitism is a “very serious” problem, up 8 percent from last year and the year before that.

Illegal immigration, one of the main issues in this presidential election cycle, is now a cause of serious concern for more than half of the respondents, i.e. 53% of the American public. In 2023, it was 49% and in 2022 it was only 43%.
According to this survey, one of the issues that American voters are least concerned about is “violent crime”. So that only 53% of Americans think that crime is a serious problem in 2024, while last year 62% of American citizens considered it a serious problem.
Hill added: Voters in the two major American parties have different views on the country’s most important issues. According to this survey, for Democrats, gun violence 81%, climate change 75%, poverty 70%, homelessness 70% and lack of access to health care 66% are at the top of the main concerns and problems of the country.
This survey showed that for Republicans, inflation with 89%, illegal immigration with 86%, debt and drug abuse with 66% are the main problems and concerns of the country.
