PNN – The Palestine Prisoners Club announced that, based on visits by its lawyers and documented testimonies, the trend of systematic mistreatment and pressure against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons has intensified. According to the organization, frequent raids and punitive measures continue.
According to the published report, hundreds of testimonies have been recorded by specialized institutions, indicating beatings and humiliating treatment during the repression operations inside prisons. Some of these testimonies state that prisoners are forced to keep their heads and faces on the ground for long periods of time, an act that is intended to humiliate and exert physical pressure.
These reports also mention the use of police dogs and sound grenades during raids on prisons, which, according to witnesses, are used to create fear and terror among prisoners.
The Prisoners’ Club further referred to statements about the raids on prisons by Itamar Ben-Giver, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, and announced that he had humiliated prisoners during some of his visits.
The organization emphasized that the videos published in the media show only a limited part of what goes on in prisons, and that the true scale of crimes is much wider.
