According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Watan newspaper, international flights from Damascus airport resumed after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on Tuesday after its complete reconstruction.
According to this report, the first international flight from Damascus Airport to Sharjah, UAE was made.
There are 145 Syrian passengers on this plane.

2 days ago, the head of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Organization of Syria announced the start of international flights at Damascus Airport from Tuesday (today).
“Ashhad al-Salibi”, the head of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Organization of Syria, announced: flights from foreign origin to Damascus airport and vice versa will be resumed from Tuesday, January 7th.
He said: We assure the Arab and international airlines that with the help of our partners, we are in the process of completely rebuilding Aleppo and Damascus airports so that they can receive flights from all over the world.
The armed opposition in Syria started their operations in the northwest, west and southwest of Aleppo from November 27, 2024 with the aim of removing Bashar Assad from power, and finally announced their control over the city of Damascus and the departure of Assad from the country.
After this incident, all flights from Damascus International Airport were stopped.
Earlier, Damascus International Airport announced that all flights to and from Damascus International Airport will be suspended until January 1, except for flights that have received special permission from Syrian Airlines.
