PNN – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy’s unveiling of a new vertical launch missile has received significant international media coverage.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the recent drill of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz received significant coverage in the international media, with the Anatolian News Agency writing that the Iranian Guard Corps tested the “Sayyad-3” air defense missile for the first time during the “Smart Control” drill in the Strait of Hormuz.
Anatoli Agency reported in this regard: The IRGC Navy released a video on Saturday showing the firing of the naval version of the Sayyad-3 air defense system, known as Sayyad-3G, from the Martyr Sayyad Shirazi vessel.
The Sayyad-3G missile has a vertical launch capability and is said to have a range of about 150 kilometers. Iranian officials say the system will provide a regional air defense umbrella for the Martyr Soleimani-class vessels.
Iran first tested the Sayyad-3 long-range air defense missile on December 28, 2016. The ground-based version of the missile has a range of 120 kilometers, a length of 6 meters, and a weight of 900 kilograms. The “Smart Control” exercise in the Strait of Hormuz began on February 16 and lasted three days.
The Emirati website “National” also wrote: Iran unveiled its new naval missile capability in the Strait of Hormuz.
