Iran and Pakistan strengthen relations.
Tehran-Islamabad relations have been growing in recent years, including over the past six months, with assurances from high-ranking officials aimed at strengthening comprehensive relations, consensus for regional peace, especially vigilance against the movements of common enemies, including the Zionist regime, and unanimity in protecting the ideals of Palestine and the Islamic Ummah.
The official visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Tehran in early June this year, the visit of Dr. Masoud Pezzekian to Lahore and Islamabad in mid-August, the visit of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran to Pakistan in November, and the official visit of Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Pakistan early this month, are evidence of the serious steps taken by the two countries in the direction of developing relations between them, especially pursuing the implementation of joint agreements.
He continued: In January 2024 (Dimah 1402), incidents occurred on the borders of the two countries, which also led to reactions. However, contrary to the belief of some elements that these events would damage the historical relations between Iran and Pakistan, high-ranking officials in Tehran and Islamabad prevented any possible escalation of the crisis with intelligent diplomacy, and after that, we all witnessed intelligent management and coordinated steps by the two countries to overcome common challenges and move towards an ideal relationship.
Kamran Khan praised the strategic maneuver between Tehran and Islamabad in discussing regional crises such as supporting the Palestinians, strengthening anti-Zionist diplomacy, the full support of the Pakistani government and people for Iran in the 12-day war imposed by the Zionist regime, and Tehran’s diplomacy to help de-escalate tensions in the subcontinent (the India-Pakistan confrontation in mid-May this year).
Following this program, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, a political commentator and former chairman of the Defense Affairs Committee of the Senate of Pakistan, analyzed regional developments and the role of Iran and Pakistan, saying: “The relations between the two countries are in the best condition since the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979, and I deeply believe that the development of relations between the two countries enjoys the valuable support of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.”
