Iraq builds security fortifications near shared borders with Syria.
According to Arabi 21, Tahseen al-Khafaji, head of the Iraqi Security News Information Committee, stressed that 400 kilometers of the border wall between the country and Syria have been built so far.
He added: The total length of this wall is 615 kilometers, 80 percent of which has been built. Iraq’s western borders are completely secure.
Al-Khafaji added: The remaining part of this wall will be built by the middle of this year, and there will be no more security gaps on the borders.
He said: The Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, the Joint Operations Command, and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces have taken strict security measures to protect the common borders with Syria over the past three years.
With terrorists ruling Syria and the spread of insecurity in the country, Iraqi authorities are increasingly seeking to protect the common borders.
