Iraq removes Ansarullah and Hezbollah from asset freeze list

PNN – The committee responsible for freezing terrorist assets in Iraq has decided to remove Yemen’s Ansarullah and Lebanon’s Hezbollah from the list of terrorist asset freezes.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al-Sumaria News, the Iraqi Committee for Freezing Terrorist Assets has ended the debate over the inclusion of Yemen’s Ansarullah and Lebanon’s Hezbollah on the terrorist list.

The committee decided to remove the names of these two organizations from the list of groups whose assets are subject to freezing.

Earlier, Iraqi officials had stated that the designation of Hezbollah and Ansarullah as terrorist groups had occurred by mistake.

According to the document issued during the committee’s session on December 7, a decision was made to amend Items 18 and 19 of the previously published document regarding their classification as terrorist groups.
