According to Shafaq News, Iraq’s permanent representative to UNESCO announced that his country had presented two proposals at the meeting of the Islamic Ambassadors’ Group in the organization.

“Asad Turki Savari” added: The first proposal is to support the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the second proposal is to register the Holy Quran file on UNESCO’s Memory of the World List.

He continued: The purpose of the proposal to register the Holy Quran file on UNESCO’s Memory of the World List is to prevent some governments from granting permission to some extremists who, by tearing or burning the Holy Quran, damage the sanctity and sanctity of this holy book and thereby hurt the feelings of Muslims.
