Iraqi Foreign Minister: We are concerned about the return of terrorist groups to Syria.
According to Al Jazeera, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed in a statement today: “We respect the choices of the Syrian people, but we are concerned about the return of terrorist groups to Syria.”
He also said regarding the ceasefire in Gaza: “Iraq has reached understandings with the Omani parties regarding the establishment of an immediate ceasefire and the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.”
It is worth noting that the Iraqi government has so far adopted a neutral stance regarding the developments in Syria. The Iraqi army has also increased its presence at border points after the rapid developments in Syria.
