Iraqi President’s emphasis on opposing Turkish aggression

Pak Sahafat – The president of Iraq emphasized that all the Kurdish areas of the country are exposed to Turkish aggression.

According to the report of Pak Sahafat News Agency, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid reacted to Turkey’s aggression in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The Ministry of Defense of Turkey announced on Monday the execution of airstrikes in northern Iraq and added that a large number of PKK elements were killed in these attacks and several hideouts and ammunition depots of this group were destroyed. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Defense of Turkey, the fighters of this country bombed and destroyed 20 headquarters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in northern Iraq on Saturday evening.

Pointing out that Iraq is against Turkey’s encroachment on its territory, Rashid said that Ankara has sent several drones to Iraqi territory and built military bases in the Kurdistan region.

According to the Sputnik news agency, the president of Iraq said in a televised statement: “Iraq, as a sovereign country, does not accept these aggressions.”

He added that Baghdad is trying to reach a security agreement with Ankara because Turkish aggression leads to the killing of civilians.

On Sunday morning, local Turkish media reported the occurrence of a terrorist attack near the Ministry of Interior and the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, killing two perpetrators of the attack and injuring two Turkish police officers.
