Irish legislators demanded sanctions against the Zionist regime

PNN – News sources reported that the Irish legislators demanded sanctions against the Zionist regime by approving a plan in the parliament of this country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Anatolia news agency, Irish legislators approved a motion in the country’s parliament in which the Zionist regime is introduced as a criminal regime that is committing genocide in Gaza in front of the eyes of the world.

Based on this non-binding plan, the Irish government has been asked to impose trade, travel and diplomatic sanctions against the Zionist regime.

According to Anatolia news agency, the plan was approved by the Irish Parliament, while the Irish Foreign Minister, Michael Martin, had previously announced Dublin’s decision to enter South Africa’s case against the Zionist regime in the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

In late December 2023, South Africa launched a complaint at The Hague Court, according to which Israel is accused of violating its obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention and that its actions are genocide because its aim is to destroy a significant part of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a confidential message about South Africa’s complaint to the Israeli embassy in the capital and all its consulates in America.

In the message, Israeli diplomats were instructed to ask members of Congress to issue public statements condemning South Africa’s action and threatening to suspend US trade relations with the country.

According to Axios, this is unlikely to happen as Washington wants to maintain ties with Pretoria to counter Russian and Chinese influence.
