PNN – The Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland said in continuation of the international protests against the British anti-immigration law that the danger caused by the deportation of refugees to the African country of Rwanda has affected Ireland and has caused an increase in the number of immigrants to this country.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Michael Martin, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph that the policy of the London government has caused the panic of asylum seekers based in England and led them to Ireland.
He stated that 80% of the refugees in this country migrated from Northern Ireland, which is part of the British territory, and said: “Maybe the British law was designed for this purpose.”
The controversial plan to deport asylum seekers from British soil was approved in the Parliament of this country last Monday after months of discussion. Yesterday, this plan was approved by Charles III, the King of England, to become a law.
With the legalization of this plan, asylum seekers who entered the UK illegally from a safe country such as France from January 1, 2022, will be transferred to Rwanda to have their case reviewed by the British Home Office. They will be deported from England within 28 days; They have no right to protest and will be prohibited from returning to this country in the future.

If the case of these people is accepted, they will be transferred to England; Otherwise, they can apply for asylum to stay in Rwanda or any other country other than England. The British government believes that this plan will deter asylum seekers from entering the country illegally.
But UN experts say that this plan is against the refugee convention and creates a dangerous precedent at the global level. French President Emmanuel Macron also described this plan against European values and ineffective.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland continued to talk to the Daily Telegraph and stated that the asylum seekers have thought of receiving asylum in Ireland and the European Union to escape the Rwandan law. According to him, asylum seekers from England go to Northern Ireland and then to the Republic of Ireland to avoid deportation.
However, supporters of this anti-immigration policy in the UK say that these words show that the Rwandan plan is effective and working, contrary to criticism. Marco Lungi, a member of the committee that oversees the UK Home Office’s activities, said: “The fact that asylum seekers are now starting to migrate is clear evidence that the deterrent effect of the Rwanda plan is emerging.”
A source close to British Home Secretary James Cleverley also told the Daily Telegraph: “The message of the Rwandan law is that if you want to come to the UK illegally, you cannot stay in the country.”
However, many charities have warned that the government’s “cruel and despicable decision” to move asylum seekers thousands of kilometers away will not only fail to respond to the migration crisis, but will “lead to further humanitarian chaos”.
Dozens of human rights activists also condemned Rwanda’s plan in a letter addressed to the British Prime Minister and called it cruel and shameful.
