Iron Dome suffers another defeat against Hezbollah’s powerful missiles.
According to Al Jazeera, military affairs expert Fayez al-Duwayri stressed that it is most likely that Hezbollah in Lebanon used “Malaak” missiles in its last night’s devastating attacks on Tel Aviv.
He added: These missiles have high destructive power and the weight of their explosive warhead reaches 250 kilograms. In terms of their accuracy in targeting positions, they are similar to the Nasr and Fadi missiles.
Duwayri added: The Iron Dome system was unable to intercept this missile. This system consists of three parts: radar, observation, and firing. The observation part determines the location where the missile will hit and does not warn if it determines that the missile will fall in an open area. The reason for the failure of the Iron Dome may be due to the performance of the firing part.
He said: This system, which covers a geographical area from four kilometers to 70 kilometers, cannot provide a 100% defense guarantee. Each rocket has about a 40 percent chance of successfully hitting and passing through the Iron Dome system.
Israeli Channel 12 TV, citing Israeli police, acknowledged that the Hezbollah rocket hit the Bnei Brak area east of Tel Aviv and was not intercepted.
