Is Erdogan a threat to Israel?
Rai El-Youm, raising questions about whether Erdogan is a threat to Israel and whether a Turkish war with Tel Aviv is certain, and why Washington is afraid of delivering the F-35 to Ankara, wrote: Once again, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was exposed to a severe attack by Israel and its malicious intentions, which is his country’s turn after Iran.
According to this report, Israeli Minister of Refugee Affairs Amikhai Shikli strongly attacked Erdogan and criticized his role in the region.
He told Israeli Channel 14: “Turkey is the next Iran and Erdogan is the biggest problem facing Israel.”
The Israeli minister accused Erdogan of spreading the Brotherhood ideology and described it as very dangerous.
Rai El-Youm added: Erdogan’s opponents consider him to be in the circle of friends of US President Donald Trump, so Turkey will remain an ally of the US and this country is essentially a member of NATO, so why is Israel afraid of the Turkish army? Is the issue related to Erdogan’s Islamist tendencies and his anti-Zionist positions?
The media outlet continued: The Turkish president does not want to rely only on Russian and American weapons, he said that the S-400 system alone is not enough to meet his country’s air defense needs. It seems that the 12-day war between Iran and Israel has been a lesson for Erdogan. Erdogan has spoken about the so-called Steel Dome system.
Rai El-Youm added: The issue of delivering F-35 fighters to Turkey is still shrouded in ambiguity, and the reason for Washington’s delay in delivering them is controversial.
The media outlet continued by reporting on the increase in Turkey’s defense budget and wrote: The question is, given the warnings of some Turkish officials that after Iran, it is Turkey’s turn; can this country enter a direct war with Israel, and how likely is Ankara to win a possible war in light of America’s unconditional support for Israel?
In this regard, the Turkish Yeni Åžafak media outlet believes that Turkey can win any possible war with Israel, even with America’s support, but there must be conditions.
According to Rai al-Youm, Turkish analyst Ismail Kilic Arslan wrote in an article: Turkey is ready for a possible and inevitable war with Israel, but the real challenge is the positions of the Islamic world and the extent to which the domestic front is consolidated.
The analyst said: Why did the Islamic world not support Tehran, while Iran fired missiles at Israel and gave the Zionists a taste of terror?
Rai al-Youm wrote: Is Turkey in a better position than Iran and enjoys the support of the Islamic world, with the slight difference that it has not fired a bullet at the occupying regime before? The Arab and Islamic world is afraid of the Ottoman expansionist project that it seeks to revive, and their previous historical experiences explain their fear.
