PNN – Reuters reported on Sunday night, dozens of Islamic delegations and groups, who are angry with the US support for Israel’s invasion of Gaza, plan to make changes in the Democratic Party’s election program and emphasize the arms embargo of the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, a group of Palestinian advocates calling themselves “Delegations Against Genocide” say they will exercise their right to free speech at the Democratic National Convention this week to make their case.
The four-day convention will begin on Monday in Chicago, and Kamala Harris is supposed to be officially announced as the candidate of the Democratic Party in this year’s US presidential election.
US President Joe Biden will speak at the convention on Monday and Harris will speak on Tuesday. The venue of this convention, Chicago, hosts the largest group of Palestinians in America.
Organizers of the Anti-Genocide Caucuses declined to give details of their plans, but said they would propose amendments to the Democratic Party’s campaign plan and exercise their right to speak on the floor of the convention.

This group wants to ban the aid of arms to individuals and groups that have committed human rights violations.
Liano Sharon, one of the members of this group, said that 34 other delegations have proposed another election program. He added: We want our voice to be heard.
The Democratic Party’s draft manifesto, released in mid-July, calls for an “immediate and lasting ceasefire” in Gaza and the release of prisoners.
This election program of the Democratic Party did not mention the more than 40,000 people who were martyred during the recent war, as well as the need to limit arms aid to Israel. This is despite the fact that the US last week approved another 20 billion dollars in arms sales to Israel.
The war in Gaza has reduced the support of Muslim and Arab voters for the Democratic Party. Although pro-Palestinian activists say Harris has been more sympathetic to the Palestinians than Biden, one of his advisers recently said Harris does not support an arms embargo on Israel.
It is expected that about 40,000 people will protest against the positions of the Biden administration in support of Israel, in front of the venue of the Democratic National Convention. The organizers of the demonstration say that this number may exceed one hundred thousand people.
