Israel and Türkiye’s fruitless talks on Syria.

Israel and Türkiye’s fruitless talks on Syria.

According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli Radio and Television Organization announced that the Israeli and Turkish delegations in the Baku talks on Syria have not concluded.

The official Israeli media added that the Israeli and Turkish delegations will hold another meeting soon after the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan recently announced in a speech that Ankara is pursuing technical-level talks with Tel Aviv to reduce tensions in Syria.

In an interview with the American network CNN, the Turkish Foreign Minister stated: Far from any normalization of relations with Israel, Turkey is conducting technical-level talks with this regime to reduce tensions in Syria.

He added: While we are carrying out special operations in Syria, there must be a mechanism to prevent Israeli planes from flying in the area that Turkey is interested in, and we have also done this about the Americans and the Russians.

These statements come even though, despite official sources in Turkey and the Israeli regime having announced in recent weeks that they do not intend to cause tension or conflict with each other in Syria, Hebrew media recently reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained to US President Donald Trump that Tel Aviv would not hesitate to engage in a military confrontation with Turkey if necessary.
