Israel burns Lebanese agricultural lands with white phosphorus.
According to Al-Nashrah, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib said in a speech at the 79th UN General Assembly in New York: Lebanon adheres to international legitimacy and the crisis in Lebanon is a warning for worse conditions in West Asia. We want a ceasefire on all fronts to implement international resolutions. The current developments in Lebanon are the result of Israel’s occupation.
Bouhabib stated: UN Resolution 1701 is the frontline of Lebanon’s defense and has recognized Lebanon’s borders. The occupation regime of Israel is burning the agricultural lands of Lebanon with white phosphorus to prevent agriculture there for many years. We warn about West Asia being dragged to the Big Bang stage. We emphasize the right to defend ourselves.
Lebanon’s foreign minister said: Is Israel not fed up with war? When is Israel going to give a chance to peace instead of tongues of iron and fire? Adhering to Resolution 1701 is the best way to stop the cycle of violence. The killing of civilians in Lebanon cannot be justified.
He added: The only way is to find a political and diplomatic solution instead of conflict. We are going through a difficult phase and Resolution 1701 is the best line of defense for Lebanon. Israel must stop escalation to prevent a big explosion. We emphasize the right to self-defense, and the settlers will not return to their settlements with a conflict, and this is possible only with the cessation of war. We warn about the Middle East being drawn into a big explosion.
