Israel did not allow Arab foreign ministers to enter Ramallah.
The Israeli Channel 12 news agency announced this morning that Israel decided late on Friday to deny entry to foreign ministers from Arab countries who were planning to attend the Arab League summit in Ramallah.
According to the media outlet, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Egypt are among the high-ranking officials who were denied entry.
A politically informed source told the Hebrew-language media outlet that the PA, which has so far refused to condemn the October 7 operation, intended to host the meeting and, with the presence of Arab League foreign ministers in Ramallah, strengthen the process of establishing a Palestinian state as a challenge.
The source added: “From Israel’s perspective, if a Palestinian state is formed, it will be a terrorist state in the heart of Israel. Israel will not cooperate with such movements that affect its security. It is the PA that must stop violating the agreements signed with Israel.”
Last month, Israel also refused to allow a French diplomatic delegation to enter the West Bank, and not long ago, Israeli soldiers opened fire on some Western diplomats who had gone to Jenin.
This news comes as Hebrew-language media outlets announced last night that Saudi Arabia had informed Israeli parties about its foreign minister’s visit to Ramallah.
