Israel ends Doctors without Borders operations in Gaza; requires them to leave by the end of February

February

PNN – In a move that could have far-reaching consequences for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the Israeli regime announced that the organization “Doctors without Borders” must cease its activities and leave the Gaza Strip by the end of February.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israeli authorities have decided to end the activities of the international organization Doctors without Borders in the Gaza Strip and have required the organization to leave Gaza by February 28.

This decision was made under the pretext of not providing a list of the organization’s staff, a condition that Israel presents as an administrative requirement for humanitarian organizations to continue their activities.

According to this decision, issued by the Ministry of Zionist Affairs abroad, the failure to provide the names of Palestinian staff of Doctors without Borders is considered to mean the end of the organization’s license to operate in Gaza.

The aforementioned ministry has announced that if this situation continues, the organization’s humanitarian activities will be suspended and its withdrawal from Gaza will be implemented.

In contrast, Doctors without Borders viewed this move as part of a broader trend of pressure, intimidation, and sabotage campaigns against aid agencies operating in Gaza and the West Bank, aimed at restricting humanitarian activities and reducing the level of vital medical services.

The organization announced that the official registration of its activities in Gaza and the West Bank has not been renewed since January 1, 2026, and that if the Israeli regime’s decision is not reconsidered, it will be forced to cease all its operations by March 1.

Doctors Without Borders warned that implementing this decision would deprive hundreds of thousands of Palestinians of access to healthcare and even drinking water; with the organization’s services in Gaza alone covering about half a million people.

According to the organization, the lack of guarantees regarding the health of its employees, the cessation of destructive campaigns, and respect for the organization’s independence caused it to refrain from providing any information.

The organization emphasized that it has never handed over a list of the names of its Palestinian or international staff, and that imposing such a requirement would force humanitarian agencies to choose between protecting the lives of staff or depriving patients of medical services.
