“Israel First” for America!
From the Spanish section of this French website, whether “America First” is true as long as Israel is not involved is a question that many of the US president’s supporters are asking these days. A humiliating question for the occupant of the White House, which shows that this seemingly powerful man is under the command of a foreign leader, and not one who lives in Moscow, but in Jerusalem.
The note continues: This conclusion is not surprising, especially given that it is difficult to identify a Russian lobby of any influence in Washington, while the Israel lobby has been asserting its power in the United States for at least forty years. Between 80 and 95 percent of representatives and senators in Congress – whether Republican or Democratic – reflect the interests and demands of this lobby.
It was both funny and familiar to watch Lindsey Graham, a neoconservative Republican senator and one of the hard-line “Bazs” (American politicians who favor hardline action and support aggressive policies, especially in foreign affairs), and Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, appear together on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on June 15. Both were skilled speakers who made demands for Israel, which had just bombed Iran, and threatened to destroy it. Then, in almost unison, both called for new sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
According to the European website, “This is exactly the kind of bipartisan scenario that infuriates many of Trump’s supporters. Especially those who joined his campaign because they share his hatred of neoconservatives, both Republican and Democratic; Supporters who are enamored with crusades “for democracy” or “against terrorism.” Until earlier this year (2025), many Trump supporters had confidence in his approach. Unlike in 2017, Trump had filled his administration not only with warmongers but also with opponents of U.S. involvement in the Middle East and Europe. Among them were Vice President James Davis Vance and Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence and a former Democratic representative.
