Israel recreating military technologies.

According to the Israeli newspaper “Ma’ariv”, while the regional warmongering of the Zionist regime in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria has reached its peak, “Amir Bar’em”, the director general of the regime’s Ministry of Defense, unveiled Israel’s extensive plans for the development of advanced military technologies this morning at the opening of the international conference “Defense and Military Technology Week 2025” at Tel Aviv University.

The conference, which is being held in cooperation with the Blavatnik Cyber Research Center of Tel Aviv University, emphasizes military innovations with a focus on the realities of the battlefield and, according to experts, reflects the Zionist regime’s strategy to maintain military superiority through artificial intelligence technology.

In his speech, Bar’em, claiming “Israel’s uniqueness in the field of military technologies,” listed a wide range of innovative systems, from advanced defenses and autonomous weapons based on artificial intelligence to electronic warfare, quantum technologies, superior information systems, cyber, and even space capabilities, and emphasized that these technologies are being developed not only for defense, but also for “the future confrontation with Iran in the defensive and offensive spheres,” and will create extensive capabilities to counter geopolitical threats.

These statements by the Director General of the Defense Ministry, made in the context of ongoing threats to the security and existence of the Zionist regime in the region, reflect Tel Aviv’s belligerent policy, which has turned military innovations into a tool for expanding influence, occupation, and preemption in war.

The director general of the Defense Ministry also said that in 2024 alone, 21 international agreements worth billions of shekels were signed, of which 1.2 billion shekels (about $320 million) were invested in defense startups, and more than 300 start-ups are working with the Defense Ministry, 130 of which have participated in field operations in recent wars.

Baram called Israel “the world’s third largest military technology center,” and reported contracts with major industries in Europe, Asia, and North America, and the growth of small companies. These investments, largely supported by government guarantees and budget allocations, indicate the Israeli military’s preference for solving the internal and social crises in the occupied territories. This is something that analysts see as a sign of Israel’s intention for future military confrontation in the region.

Noting that Israel’s existence and security are constantly under threat, Bar’em saw this as a major strategic opportunity for Israel, warning that anyone who does not adapt to this reality will be left behind, and emphasizing the development of the next generation of technologies to counter Iran.

The two-day conference, the second international event of the Defense Department’s Cybersecurity Center, focuses on field innovations. Critics, including human rights organizations, call these developments a re-creation of warmongering, as technologies such as autonomous drones and cyber systems have become tools for the Zionist regime’s genocidal crimes in recent Israeli wars in Gaza and Lebanon.
