Israeli ambassador expelled from African Union headquarters

PNN – News sources reported that the Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia, who had gone to the African Union headquarters to attend a meeting, was expelled from the venue.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, a reporter for Al Jazeera television network said on Monday that the Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia had gone to the African Union headquarters to attend the annual meeting, but some member states opposed this and expelled him from the venue.

Recently, the 38th African Union Summit was held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, and the participants of the summit, in a final statement, strongly condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime and its brutal aggression against the people of the Gaza Strip.

The statement said: We express our opposition to Israel’s violation of international law and targeting of civilians and infrastructure; Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians and must be tried in international courts.

The statement also emphasized: We demand the cessation of cooperation and the normalization of relations with Israel until the occupation and its aggression against Palestine end. We demand the immediate release of all Palestinian prisoners, especially women and children.

The statement added: We declare our opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from their land and consider it a violation of international law.

Since October 7, 2023, when Operation Al-Aqsa Storm began, the Israeli regime has killed 50,752 Palestinian citizens and injured 115,475 others in its aggressive attacks on the Gaza Strip.
