Israeli analyst: Iran inflicted a major defeat.
In an article published in the Tuesday issue of Haaretz, Nehemiah Strassler admitted that, despite some tactical gains, Netanyahu has led us towards a strategic defeat in both political and military dimensions.
The 12-Day War is a Nightmare for America and Israel
According to the author of this article, Israel’s position as Washington’s pampered child is shaky, and Saudi Arabia has taken the regime’s place in this position.
He adds: Our position in the international community has also fallen to its lowest level in history. We defeated Hamas militarily, but we did not succeed in destroying it. Today, every point from which we retreat is again under Hamas control, and the group still has 20,000 armed forces.
In another part of this article, the Israeli analyst also refers to Hezbollah in Lebanon and writes: Hezbollah has not surrendered and has not handed over its weapons, but is rebuilding itself and is reorganizing itself and can still be a threat to Galilee, and despite the assassination of its chief of staff, it still has this capacity.
However, the author of this article believes that Netanyahu suffered the biggest defeat on the Iranian front. In his opinion, as soon as the 12-day war ended, Netanyahu claimed that we had achieved a historic victory against Iran and that we had eliminated two existential threats, namely nuclear and 20,000 ballistic missiles, but in reality, we did nothing against Iran. Iran did not surrender; not only did it not surrender in relation to its nuclear program, but it is also strengthening itself in the ballistic missile sector in an unprecedented way, and it has recently been announced that it will have the capacity to fire 2,000 missiles per day in the next confrontation with Israel.
Emphasizing that “Netanyahu has not succeeded in defeating any of our enemies,” the Israeli analyst wrote: “From a political-military perspective, we now find ourselves in a worse situation. Netanyahu has not succeeded in defeating any of our enemies. All the risks remain the same. As for the decisive victory, I must say that the worst figure in Jewish history has brought him a major strategic defeat.”
