Israeli killings extend beyond Gaza, as the ceasefire is a pretext for colonial control.

Broken ceasefires, bombings, ground incursions, and rising deaths: Israeli imperialism is now spreading across the region.

It is now abundantly clear that the ceasefire in Gaza is just a “ceasefire.” The onslaught continues. The area is attacked almost daily. In one day in late October, nearly 100 Palestinians were killed. On November 19, 32. On November 23, 21. And it continues. Since the ceasefire, more than 300 people have been killed and nearly 1,000 injured. These numbers will continue to rise. The real change is that the ceasefire has reduced global attention and scrutiny.

Meanwhile, Israel’s emerging plan is becoming clearer: bloody domination not just in Gaza, but across Palestine and the wider region. “A dangerous illusion that life in Gaza is returning to normal,” is how Amnesty International’s Secretary-General Agnes Callamard described the period since the ceasefire. She said Israeli authorities had eased attacks and allowed some aid into Gaza, but “the world must not be fooled. Israel’s genocide is not over.”

Not a single hospital in Gaza has fully reopened. The onset of rain and cold weather has left thousands of people in dilapidated and damaged tents at risk. Since the ceasefire on October 10, nearly 6,500 tons of UN-coordinated aid have been blocked by Israeli authorities from entering Gaza. According to Oxfam, in just two weeks since the ceasefire, shipments of water, food, tents, and medical supplies from 17 international NGOs have been denied. The result is that people whose homes, livelihoods, and permanent shelter have been destroyed are still not allowed to get safer tents or enough food.
