Israeli media reports agreement for withdrawal of 200 Hamas forces from Rafah tunnels.
Al Jazeera Qatar reported that an Israeli security cabinet official said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US special envoy Jared Kushner had reached an agreement for the safe withdrawal of Hamas forces from the Rafah tunnels in southern Gaza.
The Israeli security cabinet official, who was not named, told the Yedioth Aharonot newspaper: “However, no country has yet agreed to accept these people (Hamas forces trapped in the Rafah tunnels).
Meanwhile, the Israel Radio and Television Authority reported that Kushner had asked Tel Aviv to allow these forces to be transferred to Hamas-controlled areas inside Gaza.
According to the Israeli news agency, Israeli sources believe that Washington will not allow this crisis to lead to the collapse of the ceasefire agreement.
However, some media outlets quoted Israeli officials as saying that a final agreement has not yet been reached in this regard.
The Israeli Channel 12 TV also reported, citing an American source, that Washington is interested in resolving the crisis of Hamas forces in Rafah and that this issue is on the way to resolution, although it may take a few more days.
The aforementioned Hamas forces are in the Rafah tunnels, and the Israeli army, despite having captured and occupied the Rafah area for more than eight months, has not only failed to identify the tunnels but has also failed to capture these resistance forces.
