Israeli media reports Saudi Arabia conditioned normalization of relations on Netanyahu’s dismissal.
The owner and editor-in-chief of the Zionist newspaper Haaretz added in the report: This month, Saudi officials have sent a message to the Americans that no action will be taken to normalize relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv without changes in high-ranking officials.
Condemning Netanyahu’s policies, Amos Shokin wrote: One of the reasons for this Saudi request is that Netanyahu’s relations with other leaders of Arab countries, such as Egypt and Jordan, who have signed peace agreements with Israel, are also not very favorable.
He added: The second factor is that Saudi officials want a clear process for the formation of a Palestinian state.
Shokin continued: What justification does Netanyahu’s cabinet have for depriving millions of Palestinians of the right to self-determination?
He added: Preventing the formation of a Palestinian state is aimed at maintaining Israel’s dominance over the lands where, according to UN resolutions, a Palestinian state should be formed.
The editor-in-chief of the Zionist newspaper Haaretz continued: “It is falsely advertised that if a Palestinian state is formed, it will be a terrorist state, while Israel (the regime) is terrorizing and terrorizing the occupied territories.”
Shokin continued to consider the settlement construction a violation of the Geneva Convention and all international laws, adding: “These settlements have led to the creation of a savage apartheid regime.”
He added: “While Israel can reach an agreement with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Netanyahu is not even willing to listen to his words.”
According to IRNA, the Axios news agency previously wrote in a report quoting several informed sources who asked not to be named: “Last week’s meeting between Donald Trump and Mohammed bin Salman has become tense after the US president pressured the Saudi crown prince to join the Abraham Accords and normalize relations with the Zionist regime.”
