According to Al Jazeera, the Yedioth Aharonot newspaper announced that the account of the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the information related to the October 7, 2023 attack contradicts the results of the regime’s military investigation.
The newspaper reported that the military investigation shows that Netanyahu’s office received worrying information from the Gaza Strip a few hours before the October 7 attack.
The newspaper added that the military’s information contradicts the account of Netanyahu’s office staff, who claim that they did not receive information before the attack.
According to the newspaper, the security officer of Netanyahu’s office began receiving worrying information from 2 am on October 7.
The newspaper continued that the security officer who received this information is a person who is said to have embarrassing documents from some officials in Netanyahu’s office.
Last month, the Israeli Channel 12 broadcast parts of the results of the Israeli investigation into the October 7, 2023 attack; the event, a year later, still has a major impact on the region.
The channel announced that investigations showed that the regional commanders presented a worrying picture of the situation to the Israeli army chief of staff, Herzliya Halevi, during his visit to the Gaza Strip on September 12, 2023.
The commanders spoke about the increasing chaos along the border with the Gaza Strip and showed videos of suspicious trucks approaching the border and a chart of Hamas exercises showing a sharp increase in activity.
But the chief of staff, according to the newspaper, stated that Hamas has been contained, but that the forces stationed on the border should be prepared for an unexpected event.
The newspaper added that despite these worrying signs, the Israeli army has unexpectedly decided to reduce the number of forces stationed on the border with the Gaza Strip.
