Israeli Strategy Minister: Israel to withdraw from the Yellow Line upon Hamas disarmament.
According to the Israeli newspaper “Israeli Hume”, Ron Dermer, the Minister of Strategic Affairs of the Zionist regime, spoke last night (Saturday) at the meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas, USA, and stated that the “Yellow Line”, which was defined within the framework of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, will not become the new border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
He claimed that the presence of the Israeli army behind the Yellow Line is temporary and that retreating or advancing from it depends on developments on the ground.
Dermer continued by threatening Hamas: If Hamas does not adhere to the international ceasefire agreement and does not disarm, the Israeli army will resume its ground attacks and advance from the Yellow Line.
Emphasizing that the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Yellow Line depends on current developments, he added: If Hamas disarms and guarantees are given by the mediators, the rate of withdrawal will increase.
At the meeting, Dermer described the change in the balance of power in the region in favor of the Zionist regime and, referring to the security situation, claimed that Israel had turned what was a strategic disaster into a strategic victory over the past two years.
Dermer’s statements about the Yellow Line were published while Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli military had begun changing its withdrawal plans in the Gaza Strip since yesterday (Saturday) and was preventing the return of refugees to their homes by drawing a new Yellow Line in the center of the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.
The plans specified in the ceasefire plan require the withdrawal of Israeli army forces and equipment to the east of the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.
After the agreement on October 10, at the same time as the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip began, the Israeli army withdrew from the depths of Gaza towards the “Yellow Line” in accordance with security arrangements. The yellow line indicates the borders of the withdrawal of the Zionist occupying forces from Gaza, according to which the northern part of the Gaza Strip, its eastern part, as well as the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah, except for the Al-Mawasi area, as well as the strategic axes of Morag and Philadelphia, will be under the control of the regime.
According to the maps published by the Israeli army of the withdrawal lines, the regime will control about half of this strip until the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
