Israeli think tank: 12-day war against Iran backfired.

The Israel Homeland Security Institute’s report on the 12-day war between Iran and Israel analyzes the effects of this conflict on the stability of the Islamic Republic’s regime and the possibility of regime change in Iran.

While Israeli officials spoke of overthrowing the Iranian regime during the days of the war, the think tank claims that Israel did not officially declare the overthrow of the Iranian government as its goal in this war, but rather that its main goal was to inflict heavy damage on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs to delay their progress.

However, according to the think tank, some of Israel’s actions, especially in the second week of the war, were intended to weaken the regime’s foundations and incite the Iranian people to resume public protests. These actions included attacks on government symbols that would likely have intensified if the war had continued.

At the same time, the report clarifies that there is no evidence that these actions succeeded in weakening the regime, and some of them even had the opposite effect.
