The ceremony was held after the Chinese embassy threatened Knesset member Boaz Toporovsky. The members refused to attend a ceremony held at the same time by the Chinese embassy.

Knesset representative Toporovsky, who, in addition to other positions, also serves as the head of the Israel-Taiwan Friendship Organization, said Taipei has provided a lot of assistance to Israel since October 7. He added that the Taiwanese embassy in Israel has worked to establish a medical center for the victims of October 7 and has provided assistance to Bat Yam residents who lost their homes in the war with Iran. Taipei has also provided financial assistance to civilian rescue organizations such as Magen David Adom and Zaka.

It should be noted that the Taiwanese company’s name has been mentioned many times in the leaked reports of the Pagers’ crimes against Hezbollah, although the Taiwanese government denied any involvement in the matter and quickly declared the investigation closed.
