Israel’s anger over the failure to disarm Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Russia Today, citing the Israeli Radio and Television Organization, added that Tel Aviv has complained to the US government in recent days that the Lebanese army has been unable to implement the plan to disarm Hezbollah.
The Zionist media added that Tel Aviv has sent a threatening message to Beirut, stating that “the Israeli Air Force will expand the scope of its attacks.”
Russia Today added that: Meanwhile, international pressure forced the Lebanese government to publish documents for the first time on the army’s efforts to implement the plan to disarm Hezbollah in the south of the country.
According to the report, the Lebanese army even allowed journalists to enter Hezbollah’s tunnels in the south of the country to show some of its actions.
In this regard, a Western source informed the Zionist newspaper “Haaretz” that the equipped and ready tunnel that the Lebanese army showed to journalists was discovered in recent months and is part of the implementation of the plan to disarm Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, which was approved in September.
According to the report, there are only a few weeks left until the deadline set by the Lebanese government for Hezbollah to disarm in the areas south of the Litani River.
According to Russia Today, this week, the Trump administration’s envoy to Lebanon, Morgan Ortagus, will first travel to Tel Aviv and then to Beirut.
Russia Today added: In recent days, discussions have taken place at the highest level of Israel’s security command regarding Lebanon, and even the issue of Pope Leo XIV’s historic visit to Lebanon has been raised.
The Zionist Radio and Television Organization claimed that Israel has reduced its attacks on Lebanon by making changes to its military activities so as not to affect the Pope’s visit, which has global media coverage.
According to IRNA, the Zionist regime began its aggression against Lebanon on October 1, 2024 (10 Mehr 1403), and after 2 months, finally signed a ceasefire on Wednesday, December 7, with US mediation, but it has continuously violated it.
According to the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli military was supposed to withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days, but the regime, contrary to international law, kept its military in five strategic locations in the region and did not leave.
On Friday, in a meeting with the European Union’s Special Envoy for Human Rights, Kajsa Ohlengren, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called for the international community to pressure the Israeli regime to force it to stop its aggressive attacks on Lebanon.
Aoun emphasized: “In a few days, a full year will have passed since the announcement of the ceasefire agreement (with the Israeli regime). During this period, Lebanon has been fully committed to implementing the agreement, but Israel continues to violate it and has even taken its attacks beyond the villages of southern Lebanon.”
