Israel’s Channel 12: Haniyeh’s assassination could have failed at the last moment due to the failure of the air conditioner in the hotel room

PNN – Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Israel’s plan to assassinate Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran may have failed at the last moment due to the sudden failure of the air conditioner in his hotel room.

According to this report, after the air conditioner broke down, Haniyeh left his room for a long time, and meanwhile the Israeli agents were worried that Haniyeh would change his room.

Israel’s Channel 12, pointing out that Haniyeh was killed by a remote control bomb, said that considering the small size of the bomb planted in the room, Haniyeh would not have been killed if he changed his room.

According to this report, in the end, the hotel staff was able to repair the air conditioner before Haniyeh returned to the room, and thus Haniyeh stayed in his room until the bomb exploded at 1:30 AM in Tehran.

This report noted that the preparation of Haniyeh’s assassination plan took several months.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar: Talks are ongoing with Hamas regarding the ceasefire in Gaza

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz publicly admitted for the first time on Monday, January 3, that Israel was responsible for killing Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. He said: We will destroy the leaders of the Houthis, just as we destroyed Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sanwar and Hassan Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon.

After Haniyeh was killed in Tehran, the New York Times reported that an explosive device had been smuggled months before the senior Hamas leader’s trip to Tehran, and had been planted in Ismail Haniyeh’s residence about two months ago.

However, Fars News Agency, affiliated to the IRGC, called the New York Times report about how Haniyeh was killed by a bomb in his residence a “lie” and said that Haniyeh was killed by a projectile and the role of Israel in this attack is undeniable.

The picture that has been published of this building shows that the explosion that shook the building and broke a number of windows caused the collapse of a part of the external wall of the building where Haniyeh resides.

The explosion happened while Tehran was under strict security measures due to hosting the inauguration ceremony of Massoud Pezishkiyan and the presence of senior government officials, military commanders and prominent figures from 86 countries.

According to these officials, in the morning after the assassination of Haniyeh, Ali Khamenei summoned the members of the Supreme National Security Council to his headquarters and ordered retaliatory attacks against Israel.
