Israel’s Channel 13: Netanyahu seeks to resume Gaza war.

The Israeli Channel 13 TV report indicates that Israeli officials are seeking to resume widespread military attacks on the Gaza Strip by refusing to implement the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan, an action that is considered a violation of the ceasefire and disregard for the efforts of international mediators.

Amid the mediators’ efforts to move to the second phase of the agreement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the regime is scheduled to travel to Miami, Florida, next week to meet and talk with the US President. This meeting is taking place in a situation where Israeli officials have stated that the continuation of military attacks in Gaza and the resumption of the war will be part of the second phase of Trump’s plan.

According to Channel 13, Netanyahu held a meeting with security and military officials on Thursday of last week, during which the need to be prepared to re-enter the Gaza Strip and resume widespread attacks was emphasized.

According to the report, Israel assesses that Washington is unable to form a multinational force to stabilize the ceasefire and demilitarize Gaza, which has highlighted the option of a military strike as the only solution. The media outlet added that a final decision on this matter will be made after the meeting between Netanyahu and Trump.

“Betselel Smotrich,” the Israeli Finance Minister, has also stated that Israel will most likely be forced to carry out new military operations in Gaza and Lebanon before the elections, and that the current ceasefire may not last in the long term.

Meanwhile, the United States has presented a multi-phase plan for the reconstruction of Gaza that includes humanitarian aid, the return of Palestinian prisoners, a withdrawal from some areas, the formation of a peace council, and the establishment of a new governance structure under international supervision in the Gaza Strip.

However, “Steve Whittaker,” the US special envoy for the Middle East, announced after meeting with representatives of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in Miami on Friday that the implementation of the second phase requires the cooperation of all parties.

Trump has also promised that a “peace council” to govern Gaza will be formed soon, with its members to be announced in early 2026.

At the same time, the Wall Street Journal reported on a plan called “Sunrise,” initiated by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and special adviser, and Whitaker, and aimed at transforming the devastated Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East,” a technological metropolis with smart infrastructure and an investment of $112 billion over ten years. Experts say that despite the beautiful name, this plan will remain only on paper and will not be implemented.

However, experts have emphasized that the implementation of such projects is not possible without ending the occupation and lifting the siege of Gaza. They have warned that existing reconstruction plans such as the aforementioned plan are in practice based on the continuation of the Zionist regime’s occupation and permanent control of the Palestinian people, and instead of resolving the crisis, will pave the way for the consolidation of Israeli military dominance.
