PNN – In an exclusive note, the Swedish university professor and analyst called Israel’s attack on Iran unjustified and, while strongly condemning it, emphasized Iran’s inherent and legitimate right to defend itself.
Greg Simon, a university professor and international affairs analyst, wrote in an exclusive note: Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran and its people in the early hours of June 13, 2025. The desperate Zionist regime of Benjamin Netanyahu (born Milkowski, Poland), whose cabinet is under intense political pressure and he himself faces a prison sentence on charges of abuse of power, believes that its political survival and personal freedom depend on an ongoing war.

Netanyahu tried to copy the revised and fabricated version of the illegal US invasion and war against Iraq in 2003. The timing of (access to) these alleged weapons, which had been banned by a fatwa, fluctuated from several days to months and years. The number of warheads has also varied from the nine mentioned by Netanyahu to 15. Lies and fabrication are practically no justification for a preemptive attack on Iran; just as lies and fabrication did not justify or legitimize the illegal and immoral US attack on Iraq two decades ago, the pattern is very clear and visible.
Despite efforts to justify and legitimize this “preemptive” Israeli military attack, which is rooted in the concept of “legitimate war” and, despite American denials (which later turned into confessions), was carried out under Washington’s support, these efforts have not made it legitimate and moral, but rather a case that Israel and the United States are covering up. Article 51 of the UN Charter speaks quite explicitly about the issue of “self-defense.” This article explains and affirms the inherent right of individual or collective defense in the event of an armed attack against a member of the UN. Self-defense against aggression by other powers is an inherent and obligatory legal right. It is also Iran’s moral duty to protect its people from such aggression. No amount of lies or deception can change this fact enshrined in international law.
Furthermore, failure to act forcefully in self-defense will have costs. Israel, and especially Netanyahu and the Zionist regime, will view this position as a sign of weakness and surrender. A situation that will only embolden them to launch more severe military attacks against Iran and its people. This was abundantly seen in Syria, when the Western-backed al-Qaeda organization refused to defend itself against the Zionist invasion of Syrian territory, which led to the occupation of more territory. Therefore, not resisting is not only not an option, but also leads to destruction.
Trump’s brazen, threatening, and bullying messages against Iran on his social network, “Truth Social,” which not only demonstrate the absolute poverty of diplomacy but also the lack of any honesty and trustworthiness, indicate a conspiracy by the US regime and an attempt to use military pressure to impose an “agreement” that is against the interests and security of Iran and its people. There are many things to fight for, protected by international law, a moral duty, and in the name of honor. Concerns and concerns intertwined with worldly issues in terms of the national interests and security of the country of Iran and its people are also on the gambling table.
