Israel’s failure to send food shipments to the Gaza Strip.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in West Asia (UNRWA) stated on Saturday and reported that Israeli authorities are preventing humanitarian aid from being sent to Palestinians in Ashdod port.

“Food stocks for 1.1 million people remain suspended at the port of Israel due to restrictions recently imposed by the Israeli authorities,” the UNRWA news agency reported in a statement.

This report indicates that the said auxiliary cargo is 1049 containers of rice, flour, peas, sugar, and vegetable oil.

Filipe Lazzarini, director of UNRWA, said that humanitarian aid from Turkey has been left in the port of Ashdod for several weeks. The Israeli transport company reported that it received a call from Israeli customs and ordered it to stop working with any cargo for UNRWA.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced last Thursday that the operation of sending humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip continues intermittently.
