Israel’s order to the embassies: we should not be accused of genocide in the Hague court
In an order, the Zionist regime asked the embassies to use all their efforts to prevent this regime from being condemned in the Hague court.
Concerns in Occupied Palestine are serious about the possibility of the Israeli regime being convicted of genocide at the Hague Tribunal, and media close to the regime have reported that Tel Aviv has started a campaign to avoid this condemnation.
The Axios website, close to the sources of the Zionist regime, reported on Friday evening that the foreign ministry of this regime has ordered its embassies to put pressure on diplomats and politicians in their respective countries to oppose South Africa’s complaint.
Last week, South Africa, in its complaint to the International Court of Justice last week, asked the Hague-based court to investigate the crimes of genocide committed in Gaza by the Israeli regime.
In its 84-page complaint, South Africa stated that Israel’s military operation in Gaza is a violation of the regime’s obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention. In that convention, genocide is defined as the commission of acts aimed at the total or partial destruction of an ethnic, racial or religious group.
Israel quickly called this case “baseless” and rejected it, but unlike previous complaints in international courts, this time it must appear in The Hague to deal with the charges raised because it has signed the Convention on the Prohibition of Genocide.
The hearing of this case is scheduled to be held on January 11 and 12 at the headquarters of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands. South Africa has asked the court in The Hague for an order to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza while the case is being heard.
The Axios website reported that Israel’s Foreign Ministry wrote in a message to its embassies that Israel’s “strategic goal” is for this court to reject South Africa’s request for a judicial ruling and not to declare Israel’s actions in Gaza as an example of genocide. The message also states that the court must be convinced that Israel’s operations in the Gaza Strip are conducted according to international law.
Many international and human rights organizations have emphasized that the actions of the regime’s army do not comply with international laws in the three months that have passed since Israel’s operation in Gaza.
