Israel’s trial in The Hague; UAE: Israel is punishing Palestinians collectively

PNN – The representative of the United Arab Emirates said at the third hearing of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands at the International Court of Justice (The Hague Court) that Tel Aviv is punishing the Palestinians collectively.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the representative of the United Arab Emirates said in the third hearing of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands at the International Court of Justice (The Hague Court) that Tel Aviv is punishing the Palestinians collectively.

The representative of the UAE said in this meeting: Under international laws, the Gaza Strip is considered an occupied territory. Israel’s blind attacks on the Gaza Strip have caused massive civilian casualties and widespread destruction of homes, schools and hospitals.

He also stated: In violation of Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, Israel has adopted a policy of collective punishment of the Palestinian people. Israel has repeatedly issued evacuation orders, the purpose of which is to forcibly relocate Palestinians in violation of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The representative of the UAE added: Israel has also neglected its duty to provide food and medicine to the people of Gaza by violating Article 55 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Israel has not protected the wounded and the sick in violation of Article 16 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The second day of public sessions of the International Court of Justice was held to deal with the occupation. On the second day, the representatives of different countries condemned the barbaric crimes committed by the Zionists against the Palestinian people and called for the end of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian lands.

The representative of Saudi Arabia said in this meeting that was held yesterday morning: We condemn Israel’s war against Gaza and reject any justification for killing thousands of innocent people and displacing them from their homes and lands. No country considers Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands as legitimate, and this is a proof of the illegality of Israeli occupation.

He emphasized: Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories in 5 decades has led to the most heinous crimes. At the same time as the attack on Gaza, Israeli officials talk about not allowing the establishment of a Palestinian state. The current situation in the Gaza Strip is appalling and Israel continues to fail to comply with international law. Israel prevents the Palestinians from the right to defend themselves with many means.

The representative of Saudi Arabia stated: The international community has asked Israel to stop settlement operations, but Tel Aviv ignores all these requests. Israel violates the rights of Palestinians in many ways and does not fulfill its legal obligations. Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands is illegal and must be stopped. We ask the International Court to declare Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands illegal.

The representative of South Africa, for his part, said in this meeting: Israel’s violence and attacks on Gaza are against international laws and these attacks are worse than the apartheid regime. These actions of Israel worsen the situation of the Palestinians, and the Palestinians are enclosed behind the apartheid wall in the West Bank and Jerusalem. We demand the right of the Palestinians to determine their own destiny, and the perpetrators and those responsible for the Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip should be tried.

The representative of Algeria also said: Israel’s actions against the Palestinians have consequences that affect all countries and the United Nations. The continued occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel is the reason for the deterioration of the recent situation.

The public hearings of the International Court of Justice regarding the occupying actions of the Zionist regime in Palestine started yesterday Monday in The Hague and will continue for 6 days.
