Last Friday, Zelensky’s meeting with Trump at the White House turned into a verbal dispute, and the Ukrainian president left the White House early in an unexpected move. The tension came after Trump reiterated his position to reduce US aid to Ukraine and focus on negotiations with Russia. On the other hand, Zelensky, who is worried about the reduction of US financial and military aid, described Trump’s approach as a “blow to European security”. In response, Trump accused Zelensky of “disrespecting the United States” and emphasized that he is not ready for peace.
