PNN – The British Member of the House of Commons Jeremy Corbyn called the country’s move to recognize the Palestinian state at the United Nations positive, while emphasizing that London must end security and military cooperation with Tel Aviv.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, Jeremy Corbyn, a member of the British House of Commons, said in a statement in response to his country’s announcement of recognizing the state of Palestine at the United Nations that Britain’s recognition of the state of Palestine is a step forward.

He also emphasized that the freedom of the Palestinian people requires more effective international decisions.

Speaking on Al Jazeera’s Mubasher network, Corbyn stressed that “countries that have taken the lead in recognizing the state of Palestine have a duty to take serious action to end the Israeli occupation.”

Corbyn added that London continues to supply fighter jets to the Israeli regime, which are used in the bombing of Gaza.

He considered this double behavior unacceptable and called for a halt to security and military cooperation with Tel Aviv and the need to impose sanctions against it for violating international resolutions.

Corbyn emphasized that “Israel seeks to force the residents of Gaza to flee and migrate,” while at the same time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the regime has said that he wants to implement the “Greater Israel” plan.

Corbyn added that Europe’s recent awakening to recognizing the state of Palestine is not accidental, but a direct result of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.

The British MP explained that the European atmosphere has changed due to the ongoing war of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip, to the point where most European countries now support the formation of a Palestinian state, and this will increasingly isolate the United States as the number of countries supporting it increases.

At the end of his speech, Corbyn announced plans to hold the largest demonstration in support of Palestine in London, the capital of Britain, on October 11, and said that public and international voices have been raised more than ever to press for justice for the Palestinian people.
