PNN – The economics professor at Johns Hopkins University says: It’s very clear that the United States and Israel are attacking parts of Iran, but the Iranians still have some trump cards in their hands, and their main trump card is the Strait of Hormuz, which is effectively closed.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Steve Haneke says that no matter how many airstrikes the US and Israel carry out on Iran, ultimately the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the Iranians.
Steve Hanke, a professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University, says: It’s very clear that the United States and Israel are attacking parts of Iran, but the Iranians still have some trump cards in their hands, and their main trump card is the Strait of Hormuz, which is effectively closed.
He added: Just this morning, a friend of mine from Dubai told me that 24,000 tons of cargo is stranded at sea, trying to find a port to unload it. It’s a nightmare.
Since the beginning of the US and Israeli attack, according to Western media, more than 90 percent of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has been stopped, and only ships that Iran wants to pass through the strait can pass through.
This situation comes despite the fact that, according to Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Navy, the Strait of Hormuz has not yet been closed militarily and is merely being controlled.
