Joint action by 3 East Asian countries against US customs tariffs.
According to Al Jazeera, Chinese sources announced a joint action by China, South Korea, and Japan against US tariffs.
China’s state-run CCTV announced on Monday that the three countries have agreed to jointly respond to US tariffs.
Chinese sources said that Japan and South Korea are looking to import raw semiconductor materials from China. China is also interested in buying chip products from Japan and South Korea.
These sources also announced an agreement by the three parties to strengthen cooperation.
Earlier, the AFP news agency reported that the three countries of China, South Korea, and Japan issued a joint statement announcing an agreement to strengthen free trade.
The joint statement of Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo emphasized that the three countries are working to counter US President Donald Trump’s decisions and create common ground for partnership.
Another part of the statement of the three East Asian countries states: We are ready to accelerate consultations on a trilateral free trade agreement.
